The Challenge

Networking within the telecom industry has traditionally been fragmented and inefficient. Professionals struggle to manage event participation, connect with peers, and maintain industry relationships across disconnected platforms. During live events, the lack of streamlined mobile tools makes it difficult to access member information, communicate in real time, and track awards or recognitions. This limits opportunities for meaningful engagement and collaboration.

The Vision  

Carrier Community set out to transform how telecom professionals connect and collaborate. Rather than forcing users to juggle multiple platforms, the vision was to create a single, powerful ecosystem where networking happens naturally. Every feature needed to serve one goal: making it effortless for professionals to build meaningful industry relationships, whether they’re attending a major conference or connecting from across the country. The solution had to work just as well on a smartphone during a busy event as it does from a desktop in the office.

The Scopic Solution

Our team developed the Carrier Community platform using Django and Express for backend services, VueJS 2 for the web frontend, and React Native with TypeScript for mobile development. We integrated AWS Elasticache, S3, and Stripe to ensure scalable performance and seamless payment processing.

The platform offers telecom professionals comprehensive networking tools including event participation, direct messaging, professional profile management, member directory access, content sharing, and awards tracking. Users can connect with industry peers, communicate in real time, and stay informed about events and recognitions, all within a single platform.

And with the Carrier Community mobile app, built with React Native and Firebase, users can now access these features in a streamlined format from their smartphone or tablet, making networking during live events even more accessible and flexible.

By combining robust backend infrastructure with user-focused design, Carrier Community dramatically reduces the friction of professional networking, so users can focus on building meaningful connections, not managing disconnected tools.
